How old must my child be to attend camp?
The minimum age requirement is 5 years old and the maximum age is 12 years old. Please refer to the camp descriptions to see the specific age breakdowns.
Example: My child is 4 turning 5 on October 31, 2020. They can attend our camp in the WOW program.

What are the camp hours of operation?
The camp program runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Early drop off is available beginning at 8:00 am each day and afternoon pickup runs until 5:30 pm. During this time, campers will be provided with a variety of games and activities. There is no extra charge for extended care.
How much does it cost to attend a week of camp?

- Power of Dance and Music in Motion – $260/week

- Week 6: August 4 – August 7
- General Camps – $210/Week
- Specialty Camps are not offered on short weeks.

Does Mohawk College Summer Camp accept subsidies?
If the subsidy payment is given directly to you to pay for camp, then yes. If the subsidy is to come to us directly from the City of Hamilton, then no. We are not a Licensed Child Care Program or a City of Hamilton affiliate.
What is included in the registration fee?
The registration fee includes a camp t-shirt, all games and activities, guest presenters, offsite trip, extended care and Friday’s lunch. Campers are responsible for their own lunches/snacks unless otherwise noted.
Where is the camp located?
All Summer Camp programs are based at the Fennell Campus located at 135 Fennell Avenue West Hamilton.
Where do I park for drop off and pick up.
Parents/Guardians are asked to park in P8 for morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Those parked in other lots may be ticketed. Please note you may only park in this lot during drop off and pick up hours (8am-9am and 4pm – 5:30pm). You may be ticketed if parked any other hours.

Who are the camp counsellors?
The Mohawk College Camp Staff are College, University and graduates with past experience as camp counsellors, coaches or with other children’s programs. All staff are required to have a Police Criminal Record Check and are First Aid/C.P.R. ‘C’ trained.

Can parents visit their children during the camp sessions?
Parents wishing to visit their children during the camp day are asked to limit visits to lunch time.
What to bring?
On the first day of camp, all campers will be given an official camp T-shirt and name tag. Campers are required to wear their camp T-shirt and name tag each day.
All campers are required to bring to camp with them each day: a backpack with a light jacket or sweater, sunscreen, bug repellent, water bottle and running shoes.
Please do not send your child with sandals, Heelys, or crocs.
Campers are asked to leave all valuables at home as Mohawk College will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items while at camp. Please note that cell phones, toys, MP3 players, iPods, video games, trading cards, etc are not permitted at camp. Cell phones must be left in backpacks.
Please label all clothing and belongings. Any items unclaimed will be donated to charity.
Is your camp nut-free?
Our camp is NUT AWARE and we ask that you do not pack any peanut or nut products in your children’s lunch.
Parents: Although we ban peanuts from our programs, we cannot guarantee that the College environment is peanut free.
Do you provide transportation to the camps?
No. All transportation must be provided by parents/guardians.
What is the ratio of staff to campers?

What happens if I have to cancel?
All requests for cancellations must be made at least 21 business days prior to the start of the registered week of camp. Cancellations are subject to a $75 administration fee. NO REFUNDS will be given if less than 21 days notice is provided. Changes to a camp registration or dates must be made 5 business days before the registered camp week by contacting the Camp Office. Requests will be accommodated where space is permitted.
Is there a registration deadline?
All camps are filled on a first come first serve basis. Camp registrations close on the Thursday afternoon before the week of the upcoming camp.
Is there a waiting list?
If the event that you are looking for is Sold Out, you will now see a red hourglass. Click on the hourglass to register your email, name and telephone number to be added to the waitlist for that event. If a space in the event becomes available you will be notified and sent a link to register for the event.
Does my child have to bring lunch/snacks?
Snack breaks are scheduled in the morning and afternoon and lunch is scheduled at 12:00 pm each day unless otherwise communicated. Please ensure your child eats a substantial breakfast as there are a variety of active sessions. All food and beverages should be kept in plastic or metal containers. Please do not send glass containers of any kind.
Parents wishing to pick their children up for lunch must notify the Camp Staff at sign-in and should ensure that their child is brought back to the camp by 12:30 pm for the afternoon activities.
Please do not send money with your child. Vending machines and cafeterias are off limits.
Friday is Pizza Day – campers will receive 2 pieces of pizza and a drink. Campers may wish to bring an additional snack in their lunch.
What if my child wants to leave during camp?
If your child must leave camp during the day, a permission note must be given to the Camp Staff at sign-in. Please specify which day and time they will be leaving, who they will be picked up by and when they will be returning to camp.
Where are the offsite trips?

Does Mohawk College make accommodations for children with a disability or special need and/or provide 1:1 care?
New This Year! Mohawk College Summer Camps is partnering with the Mohawk College Clinic for Behavioural Services to provide inclusive camp experiences for individuals with behavioural challenges, significant skill deficits, or diagnoses. The clinic for behavioural services will deliver assessments and plans for skill development and behavioural moderation so that anyone can participate in camp activities. This partnership will be facilitated by placement students in the Autism and Behavioural Sciences program and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
